Mandarin Immersion Preschool- ages 3-6 years

Our Mandarin Immersion preschool program is designed to be child directed, independent and self paced, with an additional focus on Traditional Chinese-Taiwan style pinyin. We focus on teaching children to speak and understand Chinese, including daily conversation. Children will learn about the importance of Chinese culture, poems and holidays. This is guided and facilitated by the teacher in an environment that also helps develop social skills, language development in both Chinese and English, mathematical concepts, fine and gross motor skills, as well as coordination. Children are allowed to work uninterrupted, with hands-on materials to allow concentration to develop. Repetition is encouraged to allow a child to gain a deeper understanding of lessons. Self motivation and the freedom to choose promote an intrinsic joy of learning. Children are given the opportunity to try and fail in a safe space, as well as ask for help when needed, leading to independent learners. We recognize each child as an individual and provide an environment that allows for the development of the whole child—physical, social, emotional, cognitive.
